Lucinda Nelson is the Executive Director of Listen Love Pray Foundation, Inc. With a life-long passion for helping others, Lucinda received a BS and MS in nursing from the University of Delaware. After working on a hospital medical-surgical unit, she focused on coordinating rehabilitation for people with catastrophic injuries. God opened the doors to work for a local church and for 22 years, Lucinda led many ministries including healing prayer, Celebrate Recovery, Christian education, and Body and Spirit fitness. She developed innovative community programs such ‘What weighs you down?’ and ‘Helping Families Heal’ for families and friends with loved ones in addiction.
In 2017, Lucinda and husband Ken co-founded LLP with a vision to form an ecumenical organization to bring the healing love of Jesus to hurting people. Together with 64 trained volunteers and several staff, LLP holds weekly healing services, teaches Christ-centered classes, brings 130 recovery programs to the local community every year, and provides hundreds of private healing prayer sessions. Each month, over 10,000 people access God’s message of hope and healing through LLP’s Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube. Jesus still heals and delivers people today! Miracles Happen!
Lucinda lives on a small farm in Maryland with her husband. They have three children with their youngest, Scott, living in heaven with Jesus since 2019. With the blessing of six beloved grandchildren, a very active ministry, and family living on both coasts, life is full of adventure and joy. And every day, they are witnesses to the majesty of Jesus as He moves into hurting lives with compassion, love, and healing. All glory to God.
In 2011 Lucinda and her husband Ken attended a Christian Healing Ministries conference. Although a life-long Christian, she experienced the personal presence of Jesus in a way like never before, during a healing prayer session. Returning home, she began to take/teach classes in healing prayer, with a small group of friends, using materials from Christian Healing Ministries in Jacksonville, Florida. The group began to see miracles happen as they prayed during the mid-week healing prayer service. Other churches heard what was happening and asked the group to train and mentor them. As God revealed more of His plan, the group’s ministry expanded to include private healing prayer appointments, deliverance sessions, healing prayer classes and a weekly healing service.
In 2011 Lucinda began the training for leadership in a 12 step Christ centered recovery program called Celebrate Recovery. This internationally known ministry, originating from Saddleback Church, helps people find freedom from life's hurts, hang-ups and habits. Lucinda ran the newcomers class, trained new leaders and led step-study groups. She found personal freedom by working the 12 steps and continues to lead step studies, teach about the steps, and give her testimony to individuals and community groups.
